Western Serengeti Kirawira Tented Camp August 27-29 Although this is called a tented camp, the rooms were built on stone foundations and had very nice tile and wood bathrooms in each unit. |
This was my favorite lodge of all the places we stayed in Africa. It was not quite as luxurious as Ngorongoro Crater Lodge but it had a lot of things going for it. It was a little less formal, which I found more comfortable. It was cool and comfortable at night without being too cold. The rooms were very pleasant with a nice covered deck looking out toward Lake Victoria. It had a nice pool to cool off in after game drives. And it had what I thought was the best food of the trip. |
The rooms are furnished with a king size four- poster bed which has redundant
mosquito netting. There were hardly any bugs at the lodge anyway.
The room also has a nice desk, wardrobe cabinet, and shelf space for putting bags. In the back of the room is the bathroom which had one of the nicest showers of any of the lodges we stayed at - lots of pressure and plenty of hot water.
