Incredible lens. Tack sharp corner to corner. Focuses very fast, from infinity to closest focus in about a quarter or a second - with the F5 of D1, this lens just snaps into focus. 

But weighs a ton and can't be hand held. I used this lens extensively on a recent trip to Alaska along with the T-14E 1.4x teleconverter to take pictures of wildlife and glaciers. On a gimbal-type tripod head, it's pretty easy to handle.
